Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a complementary technique used to relieve pain or for therapeutic purposes by inserting fine needles into specific points on the body. Many of our clients have experienced acupuncture for themselves or may have heard of it elsewhere and are attracted to its holistic nature.

Dr. Thoms has been certified by the American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture and using this technique on cats since 2004. Many cats are tolerant and respond nicely to this therapy. Unlike a pill or injection, acupuncture is a procedure and most treatments require a series of visits to achieve an optimal response.

The types of medical problems addressed by acupuncture is very broad, yet certain issues seem to respond better than others and each cat's individual response to acupuncture is different. Using acupuncture to improve a cat's quality of life is uniquely satisfying for us.
